UNIT 7: TRENDS
In unit n. 7 we will describe clothes and hairstyles, we
will give opinions on style, discuss trends, the fashion industry and its
impact. We will define ourselves in different ways. We will also revise the use
of prepositions before or after certain categories of words (nouns, adjectives,
verbs…) and we will write a mediation text about trends.
Following our pacing guide, we will cover this unit
from April 15th to May 5th.
JITSI MEETING:
VOCABULARY:
Page134, activity 2. You will tell me which word in
each group is the odd one out and then you will match the group of words to the
descriptions.
SPEAKING:
We will use the vocabulary about style and fashion
that we have learnt/revise for this section.
·
On the top o pages 134-135, there are six people with very different
clothes and hairstyles. Describe them trying to use the vocabulary in activity
2.
·
Answer the questions in activity 4.
·
What do you know about the fashion, music and social trends in these
decades? 1920s, 1940s, 1960s, 1980s, 1990, 2000s.
HOMEWORK:
Sometimes in conversations there are some
misunderstanding and we need to rewind and express it in a different way. That
is the occasion on which we use backtracking and correction. You can see some
expression for that purpose in activity 8, page 135. Can you complete those six
sentences in which there is some misunderstanding?
That’s all for now.
Take care,
Ángel
